Open call: Theatre & Dance for the Very Young Virtual Conference
The Lawrence Arts Center is delighted to host a Theatre and Dance for the Very Young (TDVY) virtual conference in conjunction with our Theatre and Dance for the Very Young program and Play Lab research series. This virtual event will be a gathering space for makers/artists/scholars in the TDVY field, as well as Early Childhood educators. We invite attendees to share, celebrate, wonder about, dialogue, challenge, and investigate any and all topics connected to the very young experience.
What does the conference look like?
The conference will offer keynote and guest speakers, interactive workshops, panels, and presentations. It will also feature three ticketed virtual TDVY performances that will be performed live for both conference attendees and families around the globe (stay tuned to see what’s in store!). The conference will be held on a live platform with opportunities to access recorded sessions after they have occurred. The schedule will be released in February 2022.
What sort of things might I experience at the conference?
• interactive workshops on practices for the classroom and/or stage
• presentations and panels on themes and trends in the field
• networking opportunities to engage with others from across the United States
• live performances
How do I present at the conference?
Conference proposal applications will open October 1 and close December 3. Please check back on October 1 for access to the application form. We are eagerly seeking applications from a wide range of artists, performers, directors, visual artists, designers, musicians, scholars, students, and educators. All accepted presenters must register for the conference and will be provided a technical facilitator for their session.
