An Exchange Collaboration
with Burkina Faso
Supported by the Danish Centre for Culture and Development and with the initiative taken by Jacques Matthiessen – and invited by ASSITEJ Denmark, the actress Fatima Ouedraogo from Burkina Faso (BF) visited the April Festival in 2007.
Her wish was to create a new exchange collaboration between Denmark and BF. The collaboration will consist of assistance of the carrying out of the first (small) TYA Festival in BF in September 2007 – and its greater successor in 2008.
At the Festival in BF, 2007 the Danish TYA theatre Dansk Rakkerpak performed the street performance ”Lus i Skindpelsen”. In addition, Søren Møller Pedersen from Dansk Rakkerpak has collaborated with Claus Reiche (Kulturprinsen, Viborg) and carried out a number of workshops for children and young people in BF. Moreover, Peter Manscher participated in the 2007 visit in order to collaborate about the carrying out of the Festival as well as the preparation of future projects.
